Spumella (spume-ell-a) (=Monas) a colourless chrysophyte cell, with two flagella, only one of which is visible here. The flagellum beats with an undulating beat, and water is drawn towards the top of the cell. These organisms usually consume suspended bacteria. Phase contrast.
