Description:
Chalcidoidea, Encyrtidae, EncyrtinaeNon-type male collected in El SalvadorHexacladia is a unique genus amongst Encyrtidae in having an elongated petiole. Rasplus et al* gave a detailed account of the biology of one species, H. linci, whose larvae complete their whole development inside the living host (Pentatomidae) and emerge from the adult, living host, by cutting a hole through its dorsal abdomen wall.Photograph by Natalie Dale-Skey *Rasplus, J.-Y.; Pluot-Sigwalt, D.; Llosa, J.F.; Couturier, G. 1990:Hexacladia linci, n.sp.
