2012-06-22 Burgenland, district Neusiedl am See - IllmitzGerman name: Albizzie (Seidenbaum, Seidenakazie, Schlafakazie, Schlafbaum, Schirmakazie)This tree from Mimosaceae family just about is frost resistent enough for mild climates here in Austria (the owner of this tree here in Illmitz told us that cold and dry winters might kill a tree but there exist several older trees in Illmitz and other Seewinkel communities; I have seen around about ten specimen so far); it is the only one from Mimosaceae family which is frost-resistant enough for our winter climate. It is cultivated for its attractive flowers.
