Diverse conifer forest, Ohayashi, Tokushima
Description:
An uneven canopied and very conifer diverse forest on a serpentine substrate with up to 7 species of conifer groing together:Pinus parvifloraPinus densiflora Cryptomeria japonica Thujopsis dolabrata Chameocyparis obtusa Abies firma Sciadopitys verticillata Also, in the area were Torrya nucifera and Cephalotaxus harringtonia and Tsuga sieboldii. This diversity is probably possible because of the low nutrient substrate slowing down the growth of all species so that no one can dominate the canopy.
