Description: This picture was taken by first focusing the camera on the eyes and then moving the camera to the center before pushing the shutter. It is a characteristic crab of Zone 2 in the rocky shores. Hemigrapsus nudus is very similar, but has purple spots on its claws and does not have lines on its carapace (back) and is a characteristic crab of Zone 3. It is also called a Lined Shore Crab.
