A Painted Francolin Calling for its Partner (50290665406)

Description:
Description: A very beautiful resident bird often the favorite of photographers. Shy and always hidden in thick grass, its often heard all around the countryside. The call is coarse and screechy, but quite loud easily audible above everything else. After innumerable failures to get a good shot, I took around 20 mins to drive just over 60-70 meters to get closer to the bird. Super slow, moving only when the birds eyes are in other direction, no sudden movements, I got to around 20 feet. Finally after taking 3-4 shots, I put the heavy lens down for a few seconds and lifted again for a shot - a bit hastily I suppose - it walked off down to the grass and disappeared. Thanks in advance for your views / feedback. Much appreciated. Date: 29 August 2020, 16:37. Source: A Painted Francolin Calling for its Partner. Author: Hari K Patibanda.
