Soldier Butterfly (Danaus eresimus) (8243235782)

Description:
Description: This soldier butterfly was hanging around on old flowers that have gone to seed. It was rasping the seeds with its proboscis, perhaps for dew. The soldier looks a lot like a queen butterfly but differs in having black veins on the fore-wing and hind-wing, as well as faint white splotches under its wings. bugguide.net/node/view/6369 Thank you Mary for the identification!.
