Leaves are linear, to 4 cm long, 1 mm wide and nearly hairless to hairy. Ray florets are white or purple and 5–9 mm long. Achenes are pubescent, with a pappus of many, free, uniform bristles 2.5–4 mm long. Disc florets are 2.8–4 mm long, glabrous; Achenes have a pappus of many short bristles 0.6–1.2 mm long and 2–6 longer bristles 2.2–3.1 mm long with barbs denser apically.
