Description:
Description: And I've remembered why I got so excited about this plant when I first saw it. Those violet stripes are very smart. That was a couple of years back when I saw a clump growing out of a retaining wall at Marchant's. Theirs was not as big as this - the much drier site presumably kept it stunted (it's nothing if not adaptable) but I remember the dark stems curving out from the base of the plant and these very fine flowers. Graham dug me out a lump and here it is - flowering for the first time since then. Date: 18 June 2010, 15:05. Source: Iris x robusta Gerald Darby. Author: peganum from Small Dole, England.
