Moraxella bacteria are commensal in nature, and are normally found inhabiting the mucosal linings of the human body. They are also known to be the cause of opportunistic infections at time when the body’s immune defenses have been compromised. Date: 1979. Source: http://phil.cdc.gov/phil/details.asp.
