Fuchsia forest - geograph.org.uk - 1469575

Description:
Description: English: Fuchsia forest A derelict field has hosted the escape and rampant growth of the ubiquitous Fuchsia magellanica which is an alien, endemic shrub in the mild Atlantic climate of western Ireland. This plant is very much at home here, the wild climate not dissimilar to the extent of its native range in Tierra del Fuego. Any other type of tree is almost unknown here. Utility poles are just as invasive despite their more recent arrival on the islands! The limestone bedrock is evident on the side of the valley where the soil runs out completely. Date: 25 July 2009.
