Description: Painted turtle (Chrysemys picta) near the Frank Gantz Trail, Gouldsboro State Park, Monroe County. Not sure of the subspecies; I didn't take time to examine the turtle closely. Possibly an eastern painted turtle (Chrysemys picta picta) or midland painted turtle (Chrysemys picta marginata), both of which are common to the region.
