Fährt man dort im Sommer Rad kreuzen bald viele der Vögel den Weg von beiden Seiten aus kommend im Tiefflug etwa 5 bis 10 Meter vor dem Rad. Der Effekt hört sofort auf, wenn man stehen bleibt. Das kann auch auf dem Festland beobachtet werden, etwa am Deich von Harlesiel nach Schillig oder rund um den Jadebusen.Spreizt der Vogel seine Schwanzfedern im Flug, kann man dort eine schwarz-weiße Musterung erkennen.Mitarbeiterinnen des Nationalparkhauses Wangerooge vermuten, dass die Radfahrer Insekten vom Boden aufscheuchen und die Vögel dann auf diese Jagd machen.Die Aufnahme hier entstand vom fahrenden Rad aus mit einer sehr kurzen Belichtungszeit.
