Brownish-flanked Bush Warbler- calling I IMG 6773

Description:
Description: English: Brownish-flanked Bush Warbler Cettia fortipes at Guna Pani (8000 ft.) in Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh, India. Not a colourful looking bird. But its call of initial low of "wheeee....." followed by quick & quite loud "chee-wee-you", remains an enigma to most of the trekkers. They will point it out for direction & Id. But it is hardly to be seen despite great efforts. It will call from inside the bush in front of you, but one will be unable to see it. Over the years I had given up looking for this bird. It calls upto about 10000 ft. & its call itself is sufficient for its Id. I was fortunate enough this time to click it at Guna Pani (8500 ft.) with clear view during Sar Pass Trek in Himachal.
