Description:

Description: English: Bembix female wasp ready to go to museum showing markings on thorax as well as her stinger! We have seen three of of these wasps which land on the Scholtzia and Verticordia flowers, feed quickly and almost immediately fly away with a loud buzz. There are quite a few differences between the male and female. The male has a large projection below his abdomen and has all black antennae. Female has yellow stalks on its antennae. There are no yellow markings on the top of the male thorax, where the female has yellow markings. ~15mm. Date: 21 January 2021, 15:07:25.
