Different cowries
Description:
This image was uploaded with an opaque background where it should have been transparent. If possible, please upload a PNG or SVG version of this image, derived from a non-JPEG source so that it could hopefully contain an alpha channel and no compression artifacts (or with existing artifacts removed). If it is not possible to obtain a cleaner version then consider creating a new, derivative, image with the background removed, while leaving this image alone; use templates such as {{Retouched picture}} and {{Derivative versions}} as appropriate; then ignore the rest of these requests. After doing so, please: Find all pages in all Wikimedia projects that use this image, and replace the old image with the new image in each. Mark this image as having been superseded by adding one of these templates. For more information, see Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload. Deutsch ∙ English ∙ español ∙ français ∙ italiano ∙ português ∙ sicilianu ∙ македонски ∙ മലയാളം ∙ 日本語 ∙ +/−. This is not a picture of the cowrie shells species used as money: Cypraea moneta. Only one shell, the little white shell in the middle of the left side of the picture, may be an specimen of the moneta species used as currency. As it is, this is a misleading picture and should be replaced with a more appropriate (accurate) picture.
