Description:

Description: Things are looking up! A day later and with warmer temperatures during the day and a few degrees warmer overnight made all the difference with 5 new ones for the year in the trap and one found by daytime the next day. It's exciting that things are finally getting more varied and peak mothing season can't be far away now! It was a shame that both of the Geometrids were quite worn. The pretty Incurvaria was a female without the combed antennae, I commonly see the males so it was nice to get the other sex and in the trap. From memory i've never had one in the trap before. And despite having Ash in the vicinity and even a small tree in the garden, Prays fraxinella f.ruficeps was only the second record for the garden. Garden species count for 2018 now upto 81. Here is last Saturday's new for year species.
