Barbwire Russian thistle, Salsola paulsenii (25564659900)

Description:
Description: barbwire Russian thistle, Salsola paulsenii, covering landscape at northeast base of White Mountains in Fishlake Valley after summer rains, view east-northeast toward The Sump, elevation 1575 m (5170 ft). Also visible is fourwing saltbush (Atriplex canescens var. canescens). The steppes of central Asia have always borne a strong similarity to the Great Basin of North America. And now only more so with the invasion of cheatgrass, halogeton, and various Russian thistles such as this one. Date: 12 August 2015, 16:18. Source: barbwire Russian thistle, Salsola paulsenii.
