Description: spearleaf arnica, Arnica longifolia, Nevada, White Mountains, Middle Creek, Fishlake Valley drainage, elevation 2175 m (7135 ft). A common species in moist places in the higher mountains of the western United States and southwestern Canada. Here in the White Mountains it is near the southwestern limit of its geographic range, and is found only in shady thickets along the most dependable watercourses on the northeast side of the mountains.
