Description:
Description: English: Green Pigeon in an ornamental Chinese banyan tree. Possibly an immature bird, one of about six birds that visited the tree daily to feed on ripening figs. Arriving early they assemble on a high perch before feeding starts around 08:00. They depart around 9:00 when the most accessible ripe purple figs are depleted. Other species attracted by the figs were Crested Barbet, Go-away-bird, Grey Hornbill, Cape Glossy Starling, Red-faced Mousebird and Karoo Thrushes. Date: 28 August 2012, 08:13. Source: Own work.
