Nviridula-FCS
Description:
Description: English: Part of the vibrational "song" of a southern green stink-bug (Nezara viridula) female, recorded with a laser vibrometer on a bean plant and saved as a sound file. The clip contains a sequence of regularly repeated "calling" signals (female calling song, or FCS) preceded by a longer "courtship" signal. Such a sequence can last 20 minutes and more. As described in the reference Čokl, Andrej; Virant-Doberlet, Meta; Stritih, Nataša (2000). "Structure and function of songs emitted by southern green stink bugs from Brazil, Florida, Italy and Slovenia". Physiological Entomology 25: 196–205. Date: 21 September 2012. Source: Own work.
