Description: English: Lactarius deliciosus var. areolatus A.H. Sm. collected in Pine River Trail, Weminuche Wilderness, Colorado, USA. Notes: Photos taken the day after. Growing from the same exact spot as obs 263916 near Picea sp., Abies sp., Salix sp. and Betula occidentalis in sandy soil. Flesh staining green. Latex scant. Could not find macropleurocystidia. Possible cheilomacrocystidia present. At least one basidium seemed to be 2-spored. Spores amyloid and partially reticulate. Spores (from gill fragment) measured in Piximetre: 7.5 [8.4 ; 9.2] 10.1 × 5.5 [6.5 ; 7.3] 8.2 µm Q = 1.1 [1.2 ; 1.3] 1.5 ; N = 10 ; C = 95% Me = 8.8 × 6.9 µm ; Qe = 1.3 8.22 × 6.71 µm ; 8.63 × 6.72 µm ; 9.60 × 6.91 µm ; 8.19 × 5.48 µm ; 8.63 × 6.86 µm ; 9.57 × 8.17 µm ; 8.67 × 7.13 µm ; 7.82 × 6.50 µm ; 8.97 × 6.87 µm ; 9.74 × 7.37 µm.
