(2194) White-point (Mythimna albipuncta) (36440919804)

Image of Pandemis corylana Fabricius 1794

Description:

Description: A slight improvement on Thursday night I ran the trap on Thursday night as it wasrelatively mild and the predicted temperatures weren't expected to get as low as 6c which it was around the two previous nights. It was also cloudy and this time of year if it isn't cloudy it just isn't worth bothering in my garden. 14 species braved the night, which did drop down to 8c, and not the minimum of 12c predicted. A reasonable haul and an expected amount as we are shift from late Summer to early Autumn. On the contrary despite the cool temperatures at the moment, the trap is always worth a punt as it is peak migrant season. Best moth of the night was a third yearly record of White-point.
