Alouatta belzebul é uma espécie de bugio ou guariba, endêmico no Brasil, ocorrendo em duas populações geograficamente separadas: uma na Amazônia e outra na Mata Atlântica do litoral do Nordeste Brasileiro. Se organizam em grupos sociais, variando entre 2 a 14 indivíduos, liderados por um macho adulto. Possuem um papel importante na dispersão de sementes na floresta.
