Description: Tetracoccus dioicus— Parry's tetracoccus. Included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 1B.2 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA and elsewhere). Restricted to gabbro-derived soil in San Diego, Riverside, and Orange Counties in southern California and to Baja California in Mexico. These flowers are tiny, both the staminate (male) and the pistillate (female) flowers measure less than 5 mm. Photographed with Olympus Pen E-PL1 with Canon 100 mm FD macro lens and Canon 50 mm FD extension tube.
