Description:

Description: PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks. This has 2 juvenile ones with the adult. I know these pictures are not the greatest, but with only a 200mm lens, in a boat it is the best I could do and had to heavy crop them. The Wattled Jacana is found in freshwater wetlands. According to the range, it looks for food in shallow water, grasslands, cultivated areas and wet meadows. The Wattled Jacana feeds mainly on insects and invertebrates. The bird walks and runs on the floating vegetation. It looks for prey from emergent vegetation, and upturns the roots of these aquatic plants to reach invertebrates. Date: 5 October 2019, 14:28. Source: Brazil-00380 - Wattled Jacana.
