Saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus)

Description:
Gori, the white female saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) hatched out in the artificial hatchery (at Bhitarkanika National Park, Odisha, India) from the first clutch of eggs collected from nature (Kalibhanjadia) during August, 1975. Light coloured saltwater crocodiles are encountered rarely in nature. They are not albinos. Gori was given a mate twice and each time pairing was not compatible. In fierce fighting that followed, Gori lost her eye. Now she stays alone in an enclosure.
