Ironwood Tree
Description:
Flowers of Memecylon umbellatum from Melastomataceae. Thankfully, this plant seemed to have appreciated the fact that we came to see it and so had open flowers as oppose to the buds we saw everywhere. The tree is so common in Matheran, that it is referred to as the Pride of Matheran.
