Description:
L: 5-8 mmcharacteristics: In Pipizini the face is flat (no projecting mouth margin) and covered in long, drooping hairs, whereas in Rhingiini (e.g. Cheilosia) the face is bulbous with a nose above the mouth [comment by Sundewvia diptera.info, 12/2017], i.e. the face is short, antennae are inserted at the middle of the face.
