Often heard, seldom seen
Description:
Anyone who lives where these guys do and has been outside for more than ten minutes has probably heard a Common True Katydid, Pterophylla camellifolia, but since they spend their adult lives in the canopy, they're much less often seen. I wouldn't have noticed this one if I hadn't been scanning the branches in hopes of finding an adult wheel bug. This guy looked like this when he was a little dude.
