Jeniang, Kedah, Malaysia.Thorny trunk. Ceiba pentandra (L.) Gaertn. Malvaceae. CN: [Malay - Pokok kabu, Kapok, Kabu Kabu, Kekabu], Silk-Cotton Tree, Cotton Tree, Ceiba Tree, Kapok Tree. Native to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, northern South America, and (as the variety C. pentandra var. guineensis) to tropical west Africa. Widely found in the northern states of Peninsular Malaysia and fiber source for filling mattresses and pillows in villages. Synonym(s):Bombax pentandrum L. (basionym)Ceiba caribaea (DC.) A.
