Description:
Endemic to Hawaiian Islands and now endangered and on the brink of extinction due to an invasive twig borer. Perhaps less than 30 trees exist. This plant was formerly in the Euphorbiaceae family but separated based on genetic studies by M.W. Chase, et al, 1993, Missouri Botanical Garden 80(3):528-580.
