Quercus agrifolia, the Coast Live Oak, is an evergreen oak, native to the California Floristic Province. It grows west of the Sierra Nevada from Mendocino County, California, south to northern Baja California in Mexico. It is classified in the red oak section. Pepperwood Preserve is a 3,117 acre plot of land owned by the Pepperwood Foundation, located at coordinates: 38.570119N 122.689451W in the Mayacamas Mountains in the coast ranges of California near the towns of Santa Rosa and Healdsburg in Sonoma County.
