In saddle looking north. Mountain hemlock in subalpine type in foreground at 8800 feet elevation. Anderson Peak at left and Tinker Knob in center distance. On south slopes are patches of brush ( Arctostaphylos patula, Quercus vacciniifolia, Ceanothus cuneatus) and red fir west. White pine in subalpine types, Jeffrey pine at lowest elevation. Tops of peaks covered with semibarren Artemisia tridentata, Wyethia mollis in sage type. Red fir, west. White pine on east slope as subalpine in left center of picture., T 16 N R 15 E Sec 34, Elevation 8800 Quad name: Truckee. Quad number: 52. Reference to map: 13.
