Image of Terrestrial (Wandering) Garter Snake

Description:
The subspecies T. e. vagrans is popular on the Kern Plateau located to the east of this location. I have been finding hybrid T. e. vagrans and T. e. elegans at this location for years. However, this snake appears as a full T. e. vagrans. Distinct T. e. vagrans have also been found in this area at Freeman Creek. Habitat image of general area.
