Distribution of Gryllus veletis in North America north of Mexico

Description:
Version of manually-generated dot map displayed above, showing U.S. and Canadian records, was harvested from SINA on Aug-05-2018.
Dots show county records; shaded area shows likely general distribution.
See also this computer-generated U.S. distribution map, produced in 2004 from records in a database available on the Singing Insects of North America site. The Illinois record is from a 12/29/2014 email from Carl Strang, who reports in his Singing Insects Summary 2014, that both fall and spring field crickets occur in many habitats in DuPage County.
David Weissman is currently working on a revision of the Gryllus species that occur in the western and central United States. He has concluded that Gryllus veletis occurs in the northern states of the western United States (personal communication).
