General Description

The body is dark brown with red subintegumental pigments, and the head is not prolonged in front of the eyes. Antennal segment 3 and the basal third of segment 4 are yellow or white, and segments 3 and 4 are elongate (Stannard, 1968). Forewings each have 2 cross bands that are connected by a longitudinal band in the posterior margin of the wing (Bailey, 1951).
