Thoracochromis buysi és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels cíclids i a l'ordre dels perciformes.[4][5]
Descripció i reproducció
Fa 14 cm de llargària màxima.[6][7] És de fecundació externa i les femelles incubadores bucals.[8][9]
Alimentació
El seu nivell tròfic és de 3.[10]
Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica
És un peix d'aigua dolça, bentopelàgic i de clima tropical (11°S-18°S),[7] el qual viu a l'Àfrica sud-occidental:[11][12] els hàbitats sorrencs amb vegetació[6] del riu Cunene[13][14] a Angola[15][16] i Namíbia.[15][17][3][18]
Observacions
És inofensiu per als humans,[7] el seu índex de vulnerabilitat és baix (15 de 100)[19] i no frueix de cap mena de protecció legislativa.[20]
