Maximum longevity: 14 years (captivity)
Observations: In the wild, these animals have been estimated to live up to 12 years (David Macdonald 1985). One specimen lived over 14 years at Berlin Zoo (Richard Weigl 2005). They are critically endangered and hence their longevity may be underestimated.
