Large, apparently torpid or ailing male, noticed upside-down and submerged in creek pool with eyes closed. When picked up, appeared emaciated and weak. However, after warming, frog was energetic and no longer appeared thin.

Many detected during rainy night, found on roads intersecting orchards. Huge adult obtained from road, but not measured. Prior to being measured, it was placed down in order to be photographed, but once on the ground it leaped with such velocity, distance, and sequence, that it vanished into surrounding vegetation. Other amphibians detected include Bufo cognatus and Bufo woodhousii.

Made squawk sound as they leaped into water. When first caught played-possum hanging limp and motionless. Largest examined SVL 140 mm (5 in.).
