Description
provided by World Register of Marine Species
Colonies are digitate or arborescent with anastomosing upright branches. Corallites are immersed and are small (especially colonies from very shallow water). Colour: pale cream or brown. Abundance: common. May be a dominant species on shallow mudflats (Veron, 1986). Digitate colonies with anastomosing branches, forming subspherical mounds over 40 cm across. Corallites slightly sunken, giving the surface a pitted appearance. Colour: uniformly light brown to pale yellow. Habitat: diverse, including shallow lagoons (Richmond, 1997).
