Maximum longevity: 12.6 years (wild)
Observations: Oldest bird in banding studies was 12.6 years-old (Clapp et al. 1982). Some authors consider the northern subspecies, to which the longevity records refers to, as a separate species called *Phalacrocorax olivaceus*.
