Description: Српски / srpski: Srpski naziv velika strnadica Opis vrste D.t. 16–19 cm. Rasprostranjena je u centralnoj, zapadnoj i južnoj Evropi, Maloj Aziji, delu centralne Azije, Bliskog istoka i delu severne Afrike. Populacije iz centralne i istočne Evrope zimi se pomeraju ka jugu. Staništa su joj otvoreni predeli, livade, pašnjaci, stepe i mozaična poljoprivredna područja. Zahteva postojanje retkog žbunja, drveća ili uzvišenih objekata odakle peva i osmatra. Gnezda smešta na zemlji, skrivena u vegetaciji. Hrani se semenjem biljaka i insektima. Evropska populacija umereno opada usled nestajanja mozaičnih staništa, a isti trend preovlađuje u Srbiji uz procenjenu populaciju od 30.000–50.000 parova (Puzović et al 2009).
