The rostral tentacles of Erpeton tentaculatus are unique in snakes.

The tentacled snake, Erpeton tentaculatus is the only snake on the planet to have a pair of tentacles on its rostrum. It is a highly specialized ambush predator that feeds on fish and rarely, if ever leaves the water. It is known only from Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Specimen from southern Thailand.
