Snout short, blunt. Scales fairly large, covered with slender conical spinules in quincunx order. Snout with black margins along its leading edge, supranarial ridges, median nasal ridge, and dorsally on suborbital. Gums of lower jaw blackish; first dorsal fin uniformly blackish to dusky.
