A row of small blackish spots in outer third of anal fin (Ref 42740). Males develop a conspicuous ocellus on each side of the nape (Ref. 1602). Young are best identified by the patch of small spots on the cheek that usually remains evident in adults (Ref. 48636).

體延長，近似圓柱狀，尾部略側扁；頭稍小而似尖錐形。吻尖而平扁。眼中大，上側位，稍突出於頭背緣。口中大，略傾斜；上頜略短於下頜；頜齒呈絨毛狀齒帶，外側列較大，下頜前端具犬齒6枚；鋤骨具齒，腭骨無齒。體被細鱗，側線簡單而完全；側線鱗數55-60。背鰭連續，硬棘部與軟條部間具淺缺刻，具硬棘IV，軟條20-21；臀鰭硬棘I，軟條17；胸鰭軟條17-18；尾鰭圓形或近截形。體背紅褐色，腹面淡白；頭部具褐色斑點或斑塊；頰部另具許多小黑點；雄性在後頸部具顯著的眼狀斑。體側具9條橫帶，橫帶中央稍下各具一黑斑，且與自胸鰭基部至尾鰭基之窄縱紋相連。背鰭軟條部具三縱列黑點；尾鰭具2條黑色縱帶，縱帶間通常有一白色區域，周圍另有許多小黑點散在。

棲地

Parapercis clathrata és una espècie de peix de la família dels pingüipèdids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.[6]

Descripció

El cos (allargat, cilíndric i de secció oval) fa 24 cm de llargària màxima, és de color de verdós pàl·lid a marró al dors (més clar al ventre) i presenta una filera de puntets negrosos al terç exterior de l'aleta anal.[7] Els mascles desenvolupen un ocel conspicu a cada costat del clatell, mentre que les femelles no en tenen.[8] Els exemplars juvenils es poden identificar com a pertanyents a aquesta espècie gràcies a les petites taques de les galtes, les quals també són evidents en els adults. 4-5 espines i 20-21 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal i 1 espina i 17 radis a l'anal. Aleta caudal més o menys truncada i de color blanc amb punts marrons en els marges superior i inferior. Absència d'aleta adiposa. Ulls cridaners. Boca terminal i musell punxegut. 57-60 escates a la línia lateral. 17-19 branquiespines.[9][10][11]

Alimentació

El seu nivell tròfic és de 3,33.[12]

Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica

És un peix marí, associat als esculls de corall[13][14] (entre 3 i 50 m de fondària)[8] i de clima tropical (30°N-24°S), el qual viu al Pacífic occidental: els esculls de corall i llacunes amb substrats de sorra o roca[11] des del Japó[15] (com ara, les illes Ryukyu)[16][17][18][19][20][21] i Austràlia (Queensland -la Gran Barrera de Corall-,[22] Austràlia Occidental,[23][24] les illes Ashmore i Cartier, les illes Cocos[25] i l'illa Christmas)[26][27][7][28][29][30][31] fins a les illes Marshall,[32][33] Samoa[34][35] i Tonga,[36] incloent-hi Taiwan,[37][38][39][40][41][42][43] el Vietnam,[44][45] Guam,[32][46] Indonèsia,[47][48][49][50] Kiribati,[8] la Micronèsia,[8][51] les illes Mariannes,[32][52] Nova Caledònia,[53][54][55] la república de Palau,[32] Papua Nova Guinea[56][57][58] i les illes Filipines.[59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74][4][10][75]

Parapercis clathrata is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van krokodilvissen (Pinguipedidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1910 door Ogilby.

四斑擬鱸，又稱肩斑虎鱚、肩斑擬鱸，俗名海狗甘仔、舉目魚、沙鱸，為輻鰭魚綱鱸形目鱷鱚亞目虎鱚科擬鱸屬的其中一種。

分布

本魚分布於印度西太平洋區，包括波斯灣、印度、斯里蘭卡、聖誕島、可可群島、日本、台灣、越南、菲律賓、印尼、巴布亞紐幾內亞、澳洲、關島、馬紹爾群島、東加、馬里亞納群島、新喀里多尼亞、密克羅尼西亞、薩摩亞群島等海域。

深度

水深3至50公尺。

特徵

本魚體近圓柱形，被小型櫛鱗或圓鱗。腭骨無齒，下頷外列齒6枚。頭部上方具有2個鑲白邊的黑斑，體側下方具有9條附有小黑點之垂直橫帶。尾鰭有多數小黑點，中間鰭條部位白色。胸鰭基部下緣有一小圓點，背鰭硬棘4至5枚；背鰭軟條20至21枚；臀鰭硬棘1枚；臀鰭軟條17枚，體長可達24公分。

生態

本魚主要棲息在開放的沙地或碎石區，有時也在珊瑚礁出現，屬肉食性，以小魚或底棲無脊椎動物為食。

經濟利用

可食用，適合油炸，但多以下雜魚處理。
