Large ocellus below the 1st dorsal fin, followed by three smaller ones posteriorly (Ref. 1602).Characterized by greenish brown body color with pale bands; mottling on head; back with 4-5 whitish saddles; lower side with series of bluish-white bands; row of 4-5 large pale-rimmed black spots along middle of side, first is largest and most intense; united pelvic fins, frenum present; longitudinal scale series 54-61; head mainly scaleless, scales on side of nape extending to above posterior margin of preopercle; greatest depth of body 3.8-4.5 in SL (Ref. 90102).
