Interorbital space slightly convex. Preorbital depth 7.0 to 8.0 times in head length. Pectoral fins long, reaching level of anus. Scale rows on back parallel to lateral line. The upper part of the head reddish; the back mainly yellow; the sides and belly silvery, sometimes pinkish; body with very many bright blue spots and vermiculations. The dorsal and caudal fins yellowish.

體呈長紡錘形而略高；標準體長約為體高之2.6-3.0倍。兩眼間隔平扁。眼前方無溝槽。下頜突出於上頜；上頜骨末端延伸至眼中部的下方；上頜骨無鱗。上下頜骨具帶狀齒，外列齒擴大，前方數齒呈犬齒狀；鋤骨具三角形齒帶且其後方無突出部；腭骨亦具齒帶。鰓耙數17-22。體被中小型櫛鱗，背鰭及臀鰭上均裸露無鱗；側線完全且平直，側線鱗數58-66。背鰭硬軟鰭條間無深刻；背鰭與臀鰭最末之軟條皆略為延長而較前方鰭條長；背鰭硬棘X，軟條10-11；臀鰭硬棘III，軟條8；胸鰭長約等於頭長；尾鰭深叉。體粉紅色，體背有3-4個黃色大斑，體側有藍色小斑駁及蠕蟲狀紋。背鰭、尾鰭及胸鰭鮮黃色或淡黃色；腹鰭及臀鰭色淡。依據
Nelson(1994)將其置於笛鯛(Lutjanidae)科中的濱鯛亞科(Etelinae)。本屬全世界計11種，台灣目前發現7種。

Morfología
• Los machos pueden llegar alcanzar los 40 cm de longitud total.[1][2]
Alimentación
Come peces pequeños, crustáceos y calamares.
Hábitat
Es un pez de mar de clima tropical y asociado a los arrecifes de coral que vive entre 70-350 m de profundidad.
Distribución geográfica
Se encuentra desde el África Oriental hasta las Islas de la Sociedad, el sur del Japón y Nueva Caledonia.

Vissen Pristipomoides argyrogrammicus is een straalvinnige vis uit de familie van snappers (Lutjanidae) en behoort derhalve tot de orde van baarsachtigen (Perciformes). De vis kan een lengte bereiken van 40 centimeter.
Leefomgeving
Pristipomoides argyrogrammicus is een zoutwatervis. De vis prefereert een tropisch klimaat en heeft zich verspreid over de Grote- en Indische Oceaan. De diepteverspreiding is 70 tot 350 meter onder het wateroppervlak.
Relatie tot de mens
Pristipomoides argyrogrammicus is voor de visserij van beperkt commercieel belang. In de hengelsport wordt er weinig op de vis gejaagd.
