Glaucous ; basal leaves numerous, broadly spatulate to oblong-lanceolate, abruptly acute, thick, 6-8 cm, long. Flowering stems 4-5 dm. high, divided at top into 2 or 3 onesided racemes, their leaves ovate, acute, cordate-clasping, 1 cm. long; pedicels 1-1.5 cm. long, slender, ascending; calyx-lobes deltoid, acute, equaling or longer than the corollatube ; corolla reddish, less than 1 cm. long, its segments separate to below the middle.
Type locality : Summits of the Sierra de I^aguna, southern I,ower California. Distribution : Southern I^ower California.
