Leaves: petioles 2–4 mm; blades lanceolate, mostly 12–40 × 3–10 mm, margins usually sinuate-dentate, rarely entire. Cypselae 1.2–1.6 mm, ciliate or not, tips of cilia recurved; pappi 0 or of 1–2 bristles. 2n = 26, 52.

Acmella pusilla, the dwarf spotflower,[2] is a species of flowering herb in the family Asteraceae. The plant is native to South America (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, etc.) and is naturalized in the southeastern United States (Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina).[3][4][5]
